Hotel Munich glossary: Brandhorst Museum

With the Museum Brandhorst, the Munich Kunstareal museum complex has gained a significant new addition. The Udo and Anette Brandhorst Collection, with its important work complexes, was opened to the public in May 2009. The building, designed by Sauerbruch Hutton architects, is fascinating. Both, architecture and works, demonstrate the city’s significant cultural importance. Works by artists from the second twentieth century can be seen. From the protagonist of Pop Art, Andy Warhol to work from further protagonist of modern art like Mario Merz, Jospeh Beuys, Sigmar Polke, Damen Hirst, just to name some, are part of the extraordinary Brandhorst Collection, which now comprises more than 700 works.
