Hotel Munich glossary: Prinzregentenstraße
The Prinzregentenstraße belongs to one of four royal avenues of Munich. The avenue was constructed from 1891as a first address for the middle-class during the reign of Luitpold, Prince Regent of Bavaria and is named Prinzregentenstraße in his honour. Many museums can be found along the avenue, such as the Schackgalerie, Haus der Kunst, the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum and the Villa Stuck of Franz von Stuck. The avenue crosses the river and circles the Friedensengel a monument commemorating the 25 years of peace following the Franco-Prussian War in 1871.Directions for driving
