Shopping in Munich
Whether you are a tourist or a citizen of Munich, most people begin their explorations of the city in the downtown pedestrian zone, which is also a great place for your first shopping spree. At Marienplatz, on Neuhauser and Kaufingerstrasse you can find branches of nationwide chains.
The "Fünf Höfe" on Theatinerstraße are a combination of exclusive shopping mall and an art museum, the Kunsthalle. The Viktualienmarkt, only a few steps removed from Marienplatz celebrated its bicentennial in 2007. Tourists and locals alike still treasure the expecially fresh fruits and vegetables sold there today as they did back then.
An additional new atraction next door, the Schrannenhalle, was an important market hall in the 19th century and was reopened to great fanfare as a shopping and event center in 2005. Visitiors can enjoy the numerous arts and crafts and gastronomical delights on offer as well as the many cultural events.

Bavaria’s biggest mobile ice skating rink opens its doors from 23 of December until the 20 of January. Daily from 10.30am until 22.00pm it’s possible to go ice skating under open sky in the center of Munich on Karlsplatz/Stachus in the middle of the Christmas market. Accompanied by different kinds of music this is truly an event for every taste. You can rent skates on location and don’t have to take your skates with you or buy ones

Many explosives topics like the climate change are covered by Tollwood and presented to the public in a special way. Tollwood in winter is located on the same area as the Oktoberfest in Munich. On sylvester you can get a five course dinner and special musical events.
