Sightseeings in Munich around your Hotel Monaco - Munich tours
Munich is called to be the cultural capital of Germany. It´s true. No other Bavarian or German city has so many important museums and theaters to visit. No other city has more wonderful archtecture to marvel at, than Munich.Much of Munich is walkable, especially from your Hotel Monaco. To reach sighs away from the city center, use the efficiant tram, bus, and subway systems.
Marienplatz with it´s Glockenspiel and the Pedestrian Zone: At the Marienplatz, where the new city hall rises majestically into the sky. Every day a concert rings out from its world famous chiming clock.
Central Munich, the Old Downtown of Munich: There are three best city view points are from the tops of Frauenkirche, New Town Hall and the St. Peter´s Church. (I think, this is the nicest, but it has no elevator, just stairs).
Viktualienmarkt: It´s a vast market square where even the most fastidious gourmet will find all he may desire.

Hofbräuhaus: A great experience, it´s the oldest and most famous beerhall all over the world.
Scenic view points, which you should visit
Alter Peter: Between Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt is Munich´s oldest parish church: Sankt Peter, whose 91 meter-hight tower is called "Alter Peter" (Old Peter) by the locals. 306 steps lead to an observation platform at a height of 56 meters. Yo will be rewarded with a unique 360° view over the Old City, including the city hall and the Frauenkirche church. If the weather is clear or if there is foehn, you can even see the Alps in the distance. Admission fee 1,50 Euro. It´s no lift there.
