How can I use the Munich transportation system?

The best way to discover Munich is to use the public transfer

Munich offers Busses, Cable cars short name “Tram”, Underground and S-Bahn( this you take to reach the suburbs of Munich)
It is very easy to come from one corner of Munich to the other. It is faster and cheaper than to go by car. First you can avoid the daily traffic and then it is always difficult to find a parking place. And for most of the parking you have to pay.

The MVV offers following possibilities:

Single Ticket
The Single Ticket is for one person and a single trip in the direction of the destination.
You are allowed to change and interrupt your trip. Return and round trips are not allowed

Stripe Ticket
The Stripe Ticket is valid for several trips by one or more individuals in the destination direction. You are allowed to change and interrupt your trip. Return and round trips are not allowed.

Single Day Ticket
The Single Day Ticket is for an adult from the age of 15 onwards. It can be used
within the selected district of validity for as many trips as you like on one day.
Buy one ticket a day and use the MVV all day long

Partner Day Ticket
The partner day ticket is valid for as many trips as you like for up to five adults,
whereby any two children between 6 and 14 years of age count as one adult.
It is therefore ideal for couples, families, groups and school trips.
Up to five adults or 10 children can travel on one ticket all day

City Tour Card
The › CityTourCard is the special offer for discoverers and tourists:
it includes a day ticket for use on public transport in the MVV inner district
(Munich city area - Innenraum) or in the entire network (Gesamtnetz) as
well as discounts for 30 tourist attractions in Munich and its surroundings.
Available as a Single or Partner Ticket

The Airport-City-Day-Ticket
is a day ticket for the entire MVV-network.
Valid from the moment of validation until 6 a.m. the following day
All means of transport within the MVV: S-Bahn, regional trains, U-Bahn
(underground trains), buses and trams
Available as a single ticket or as a partner ticket for up to 5 adults

Where to buy your MVV tickets
Single Tickets, Stripe Tickets and Day Tickets can be purchased from the ticket machines in all suburban railway (S-Bahn) and underground (U-Bahn) stations and on MVV regional busses.

Single Tickets and Day Tickets can be purchased from the ticket machines in trams and city buses in Munich.

As well as from ticket machines, Service and Customer Service Centres and Information Points, all tickets can also be purchased from private ticket offices (e.g. kiosks).

A service for all passengers
You can use your credit card with all MVV ticket machines to pay for your MVV tickets at Munich Airport.
