850 years Munich - the longest city birthday party

Under the motto "building bridges", Munich celebrates its 850th birthday from June to September 2008 with big city flair. The prelude is a ceremonial act in the philharmonic hall on June 13th. Many additional staged event highlights from the city follow, such as the annual city founding festival on the 14th and 15the of June between Marienplatz und Odeonsplatz or the Old City ring festival July, where the streets become the boulevard for a historic trip through time. Things then get romantic at the end during the Isar bridge festival in early of August with lots of light, music and dancing.
