Hotel Munich glossary: Amalienburg

Amalienburg is a part of the Nymphenburg Palace, was built by Cuvilliès between 1734 and 1739. The lovely pavilion was a present from elector Karl Albrecht to his wife Amalia. That’s why it is called „Amalienburg.“ It is considered to be the loveliest pavilion in European rococo tradition. It’s inside is in the Bavarian national colours of silver and blue.
