Hotel Munich glossary: Concentration Camp Dachau

The Concentration Camp is located in Dachau, alte Römerstr.75. It was Heinrich Himmler, who ordered that a concentration camp has to be  erected at Dachau. It was the first one built in Germany. The camp was established as a kind of murder school fort he SS. In April 1945 units from the US Army liberated the camp. Sadly but true more than 200.000 persons were held there as prisoners from over 34 countries. Lucky them who survived.
